Township Assessor? I am Voting Yes.

The goal of most conservatives is to streamline government and keep taxation low and fair. With all the talk of property taxes in Indiana, there is one change we can make close to home that brings us near to the efficiency and fairness we all want to see. The last question of the ballot in Floyd County Township reads, “Should the assessing duties of the elected township assessor in the township be transferred to the county assessor?” Voting YES will eliminate the office, voting NO will keep it. I am voting "Yes." There are over 1000 township assessors in Indiana and they assess property in 1000 different ways. Let's correct this problem, have all property assessed according to a standard, make it a more efficient process and have the opportunity as citizens to assess the person we elect every four years. Vote for less government and fairer tax bills on November 4. Vote YES.
