Promises, Promises

No pork, no special interests, change the way we do business in Washington...all lies that have escaped the mouth of the President. He has stated that his election meant the American people were "demanding that we restore a sense of responsibility." Is that right? This next quote is straight from his web site, http://www.barackobama.com/issues/fiscal/ ,"Cut Pork Barrel Spending: Obama introduced and passed bipartisan legislation that would require more disclosure and transparency for special-interest earmarks. Obama and Biden believe that spending that cannot withstand public scrutiny cannot be justified. Obama and Biden will slash earmarks to no greater than year 1994 levels and ensure all spending decisions are open to the public." Well now, Obama says he will sign the spending bill that keeps government working through September. Problem is that the bill contains over 8,600 special pork projects totalling over $7.7 billion.

What happened to his promise to reject the tailored budget lines specifically for pet projects? What happened to his pledges to expose the wasteful spending? What happened to changing Washington? What happened to change?

Promises, Promises used to be the name of a Broadway musical...
Is Obama looking to creating a REMAKE?
(a little "offkey" for my taste)
My dad always said "Promises were made to be broken".

I'm seein' a "whole lotta broken" all over the place these days.
And not much else.
